What are the rearest options for our 230SL,250SL 280SL

For me this one is easy, the hardtop with the sun roof. I think this has been established as not really a factory option, there were very few of these made.

I have a skid plate that was for a 230SL. I think it was an option for the manual transmissions only but not sure. It won't fit my 280SL automatic.

I have been looking for a skid plate for a 230sl in lorder to make a ralley car. Are you interested in selling it??

My 280SL still has the engine skid plate.
The transmission and fuel tank plates have disappeared but the mounting brackets are still in place.
The car was originally shipped to Kenya (where I wsas born), but the data card has no mention of it. Anybody know the option code?

Note: the rad and oil cooler are still vunerable. Front mounting brackets go around the front X-member.

What about factory tools& fabric rap has any one still have their orginal tool kit?

The code on the invoice I have for a 66 is #481 called a "protective undershielding" costing $165.

I have a center armrest/Storage box (sitting where the center tray is). I am sure it is not an original option but it makes the ride so much more comfortable when you can rest your arm on it. I have not seen something like it very often, not even on eBay.

I have the original tool kit for my car and it is gray/brown vinyl on the exterior and gray fabric lining on the interior.

talking  of the oil pan skid plate, I remember when I was in high school and had two of the young women riding with me to a school outing, in then my dads 280SL. We were going through Beverly Hills on Beverly Drive and they had this BIG dip when you got to small Santa Monica Blvd. The SL went in the what I call this sink hole and totaled the radiator.
Since my dad was out of town on business I quickly brought his car to then Hollywood Mercedes-Benz for repair before he got home. Well it was not to much later that week he must of got the bill and was cussing up a storm that the work was not done right and Why was I driving his car and not my Fiat?
I don't think it was too much longer he added the skid plate and HD coil springs to the underside of the car, he too must of bottomed out some were along the way.
by the way the grommets for the skip plate are still availible I got a set from Tom Hanson.
