FrigeKing A/C control plates

Hello Group,

I realize that this is a rather trifling question,
but if anyone in the group is aware of any vendor that
reconditions or restores the brushed aluminium control plates
on the FrigiKing A/C front panel, I would appreciate the info.

I guess that I am pretty anal, but the condition of mine no
longer matches the rest of restored interior of my 1970 280SL.

As usual, any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Spring
approaches and the Pagoda is about to become topless once again!!

A few years ago I was searching around on the internet and found a place that would recondition the front of the kuhlmeister ac, I believe for $160.  At the moment I found it I thought that was too much and moved on.  Later I wanted to check it out some more but never have been able to duplicate that search and find the place again.  I am sure if this place still exists they could do either of the panels.  Maybe one of you guys who is more adept at searching can locate this place and we can give them a bunch of business.

Jackson_ I made my plate they martched so close that no one could tell the differance Go to a shop that makes trophes and plaques they will be able to duplicate your old ones. My cost was $60.00 for a set of 6 plates (12 total) Good Luck.

Jackson, I believe the original process was called "vacume metalizing" and that there is an advetiser in Hemmings who still does it.  It is the process that we used on the Cave car.
