Worlduph.com - seat covers
« on: April 19, 2006, 14:26:38 »
I'm UK based and I'm after replacement seat covers for my 67 250SL. I've discovered the above US company on the net. They appear to be much cheaper than UK and European suppliers so I am tempted. Has anyone used them for seat covers ?

I have red tex at the moment but I quite fancy leather. They do either and also offer spray paint in matching colours. My other trim will need freshening up as well. Anyone had their trim sprayed up ? Also, am I ok just recovering the seats in leather and keeping the rest of the trim in vinyl or will that be noticeable ?

I will be having a local coach trimmer do the work for me.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Ian,

The Search tool works well, here's a few hits on "world up".  You can e-mail members who mention having used the companys products.

I used World to supply the entire leather interior in my pagoda and found their parchment to be the most accurate in terms of color shade and texture of leather. Fitment of seat covers and pre-cut pieces was excellent. Two years ago an entire leather interior with MB horsehair pads, headrests, door panels etc was about $2,600.00US shipped. I would not recommend a partial leather, with remainder in vinyl. The parchment spray dye is unhappily not a very good match and will continue searching for an acceptable one.
