After many hours of cyphering as Jethro Clampett liked to say I have solved the V in the soft top frame over the windows.  My top had some other bent bars which I fixed so I can say this will work for eveyone all of the time but it is something to consider if you have the V in the frame sections above the windows.

The first picture shows the rear section of the hinged assembly which sits above the windows.  By flattening/bending the rearward section I was able to make it a little longer which makes the two sections very tight.  The picture shows a before template in black below the newly modified bar.

Here is the V joint with the frame up and latched.  Nice and straight.

While on this project I also discovered something I didn't know about folding the soft top frame.  Believe it or not the corners of rear hoop are not supposed to touch the wheel well section in the storage area.  It stored correctly I think the frame is designed to suspend the corners so they do not touch the wheel wells which curls up the corners of the top material.

See the post under soft top corner curls.
