Switch for indicator - will not stay in position
« on: May 17, 2006, 12:50:30 »
Hi,

The switch for the directional indicator will not stay in position; I have to hold it down when turning. Do any of you tech guru's our there know what's wrong and how to rectify this problem?

Cheers and thanks for any assistance

The switch has been written up on several occassions. The short story is that the springs are 40 years old and so are the grooves that the rollers silde into. Removal of the switch is pretty easy. Tightening or replacing the springs is also simple. Grinding a little metal to expand the grooves is easy with a dremel tool or a small grinder.

Just by chance, does anyone know of a thread with some pictures in it for this?  A tutorial kind of thing.
