California Coupes always trade at a discount to Roadsters, but they're an interesting and unique Pagoda. A good used grill is valuable, but I think 2K is way too steep. The overall price would really depend on condition, with rust being the greatest factor. Next, I would assess engine quality, then chrome, interior, etc.
There's a dealer on this message board who has gotten in the low to mid-20's for a couple of really clean examples of a 280 SL Coupe. Mind you, those were rust-free cars that needed nothing. On the other hand, I've seen a lot of average Coupes trading around 10K, give or take a couple grand.
