Thanks so much to you and Garry for the warm welcome.  As the car has a seized block (rust in cylinder 1), the restoration is now fully out of my league.  I have plenty of stories and pictures to share, however I need to find some references on where to send it for (mechanical) restoration as the owners are not yet concerned for aesthetics.  I spoke with David a Buds Benz in GA who stated that Metric Motors is closing shop, so I don't yet know where to send it to get the process started.  :'(

So, if you have a son, a really cool photo would be one of you and him in the car now . . .

Agreed!  We need to put that together... except my son is 15 now and taller than me :)
