Is it official?

I'm not sure if this is accurate or not but it looks as if this site is the lagest Pagoda community on the web.  It seems that at the time of this posting we have a total of 1621 registered members while the other 113 site has a total of 1370 registered members.

I just checked the German language site:
http://www.pagodentreff.de/diskussionsforum/
and it has 1.537 registered members, so it appears we do have the most registered members.

To me though, a better indication of activity is the number of daily posts, and also in that department we 'rank' highest, and by a wide margin. We have about 37,000 posts on the forums to date, the German site has less than half that, and Pagoda113.com has less than 20,000 although it started a year or two before this site.

Someone went through a lot of trouble writing this (and it wasn't me):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_W113

Since we are the largest and most active group, we should create a link to this group on wikipedia. It would be helpful to other owners out there who don't know we exist.

Now that I have a 560SL, I have been spending a lot of time on the W107 sites and only WISH they were half as good as this site!  Hopefully, as the W107s age further, there will be active and detailed participation.  Yes....we are a very lucky group!

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but we have a lot of duplicate forum members. Here are the latest (as of 28th of august 2006) statistics:

  • since we instituted a more pro-active reminder (and deletion) system we currently have 262 paying full members
  • we have 1654 members listed in our forums
  • but of those, only 1509 have unique e-mail addresses, indicating that many people registered twice or more often. I cannot delete these duplicate entries because the forum database would lose its integrity.
  • Finally, if I look at who accessed the forums in the last year, its only 926 forum members

So, don't stop advertising our site. The good news is thought that every site is suffering from these or similar problems. And if I look at the traffic we generate on our site, compared to some others, we are the most productive group. Add to that our "in person events" (our European Event will take place this Sunday, the 3rd of September) and we are certainly the best group a Pagoda owner can join!
