Battery ground ?
« on: September 12, 2006, 12:16:48 »
Had to replace my battery today.  The auto parts guy questioned the placement of the ground wire which is attached to the fin of the wheel well seam.  He thought it shoud ground to the engine.  Where should the ground wire be bolted?

Thanks :?:

Jim,

The location of the ground wire is correct.  The SL has engine to body/frame cable.

Mine is from the fire wall to the transmission housing on the drivers side.

Body is the frame.  ??  Those little electrons come out of the plus battery/alternator go thru bulbs/relays/motors to the block and frame/body, thru the firewall strap from the tranny to the strap back to minus on the battery.  I've never seen an electron, but Ben Franklin assures me they exist. Have you seen one?

Thanks gang.

What a group.  I too stay away from those hot little electrons lest they find new flow paths through me.  I did have contact with the 60amp bus in my home panel recently, not recomended :x

When your battery drains, try looking under the car for a puddle of electrons!
