Greetings Everyone

Hi All,

We picked up our 68 250SL in April of this year & love it. Just wanted to thank Will Samples, Hans Strom and Frank Mallory for their technical knowledge. Had the car in for servicing, as the previous owner had it for 12 years & put just under 5k miles on her. Shortly after servcing, lost the clutch (the slave cylinder) and decided to fix myself. The job went much easier with the info I picked up from this site. Have to figure out how to attach some pic's.
Best regards everyone,
Patrick

Welcome Patrick - I take it that you found useful information in the technical articles section on the website (here: http://www.sl113.org/articles/default.asp). Will Samples was very active on the predecessor to our Group site, being the Yahoo! Groups W113 discussion group. Frank Mallory sadly passed away some time ago. Hans Strom, who lives in Stockholm, does still participate in the discussions here from time to time.

Thank you Cees,

This site has a wealth of information. Great if you are inclined to do your own wrenching. I bought the 250 as a hobby and as I have heard and can now confirm, they are labors of love.

In this regard, Frank lives on.  He was very attached to his cars, especially the 250sl he purchased new while working in Europe.  About 2 weeks before he passed, the engine blew the head gasket. I hope the fellow that purchased the car at his estate auction has put it back on the road and found it to be worthy ride. -CTH
