under-dash panel hardware
« on: August 06, 2003, 22:08:39 »
In my search for authenticity, I would like to know what was used originally to mount the under-dash panels to the body.  My car had a combination of oval-head phillips screws with either 1" diameter fender washers or the same heavy washers used at the front grill frame.  I'm not sure if either one is correct.  Thanks for any input.

Tom,

I just went and checked my car (1967 250SL) and the underdash panels use the phillips head screw and the cup washer similar to the grill. From what I know of the way the restoration work was done(not by me) these should be correct.

My $0.02 for Friday.
