Riding my bike through marble Arch [ London ] this evening I drove behind a blue 280 [ reg;Mel ] .
I managed to ride up to his side and asked whether he was aware of W113 Group on the net? he said no(' :o '), I told him to google it, he said thanks and we drove off in our different directions!
I didn't have enough time to pull out a W113 group card.

I hope he looks in !!! [ I bet he doesn't! ]

I saw a bronze 280SL with Tennessee plates pulling into a parking garage in Old Town Alexandria yesterday.  It pulled away before I could walk over to say Hi.

Late afternoon yesterday I saw a white 280sl heading east on U.S.78 near Snellville, GA.
I was heading the opposite direction in traffic, Just got a glimpse and it was gone.

I'm riding 50Km. on my Unicycle 18 May, 2008 in the Tour de Cure.

I'm in Guatemala City, in Central America, so the question is not often. I saw a Burgundy SL about 3 months ago in one of the city's upscale neighborhoods, it didn't have the specific model lettering so I don't know if it was a 230, a 250 or 280.

I'm sure it was a US specs car because of the headlights and the side marker lights. It had the hardtop on, and it looked GORGEOUS.

Then, I THINK I saw a white one, moving on the street and from afar, about five years ago.

And the next one back I remember seeing, was in the late 60s or early 70s  when several of my college pals and I ran out to Guatemala City's main thoroughfare "Avenida La Reforma", not that that matters, to see a parked Pagoda SL. It had to be one of the early 230SLs, and it was guards red, both body and hardtop.

I'm sure I eventually saw one just like it in the movies driven by Sofia Loren in a thriller named? I think that Cary Grant played the good guy in that movie, and, by the way, it's the ONLY movie I've seen in which a Pagoda SL figured prominently. I'll try to Google the film's name as soon as I finish here, but have you seen other Pagoda SLs in the movies?

By the way, it was fun to reminisce and answer the survey, can you hear me (us), Mr. Moderator?

Eduardo.

Saw a white 1969 280SL with A/C and 4spd manual in the far eastern part of Massasshusetts near Connecticut, currently undergoing a rust repair job to the front end.  Was up there last weekend with girlfriend and crusing around.

This mornings Speed TV broadcast of the Monaco GP showed this flash of David Coulthard driving to work in his Pagoda.

TiVo is great because you can rewind and catch these images, on the other side the race ran long because of the rain and my recording got cut off at 3mins before the finish, At that time Hamilton was still in the lead, but anything could have happened.

Going east on Fulton St. in Grand Rapids.   First one I've seen in the city.  I was in the wrong lane to turn and follow him.  A VERY nice 230sl.   Light brown with a dark brown top.  Not sure why it was up,  it was a nice day.

Two in one day!  Yesterday morning (5.28.08) at around 10:00, I saw a wonderful example at what appeared to be a repair shop on Woodside Rd in Redwood City, CA -- hope she isn't too ill!  It was blue with a blue canvas top.  Also, while travelling southbound on Broadway near Main St - again, in Redwood City, a gorgeous white 280 with vanity plates -- one of the best looking 280s I've seen in a while.  I was, unfortunately, in my daily driver and didn't wave at the driver.

Hey Darryl. Well, in order to keep this thread on task, lets go like this:

You may just spot a white 63 Pagoda at 8 AM at the I-80/Watt area on Sunday... might I see a nice red California Coupe? (respond over in Events if you care to...)

Friday was my lucky day. Afer seeing two 113s at the Classic Center, I went to San Juan Capistano. While enjoying some Nachos in an outdoor cafe, I saw a Red 113 with a red hard top around 1PM. A few minutes later I saw a white topless 113.
I am back home in GA [Georgia] now

Kind of rare to see a W113 on the streets of Manhattan. (They are here but they seem to be in hiding.)  I have an e-mail list of about 50 Tri-State Pagoda Owners (NY NJ CT) but they seem not to want to tackle NYC traffic even on quiet weekend days.

So my "Pagoda Spotting" is confined to car shows...and yesterday (Sunday) I did see another Pagoda at the annual Westbury Gardens show on Long Island.

A beautiful fire engine red 1969 280 SL in great shape...owner has very little road time in the car and is suffering from Neo-Auto Phobia (fear of going on a long trip with a recently purchased car.)

I told him the cure was to expand his circle little by little...or to bite the bullet and go for a long drive for the "Cold Turkey" cure. He did not seem happy with either suggestion. Unfortunately his comfort circle is only about 10 miles from his garage so he's a bit restricted...in fact he will not be going to the annual gathering at the MB USA headquarters in Montvale NJ since it is beyond his "Line  in the Sand."

I am sending him a copy of this message so he might reconsider the value of the MB Lunch and chance to see maybe a dozen Pagodas at one time.

I was working today in Mayfair and for the benefit of you guys in the States, Mayfair and Knightsbridge are the smart and rich areas of central London, home of lovely hotels, stores, restaurants and cars...and these fantastic underground car parks where the Toffs leave their old Rollers and exotics covered up for years....anyway I parked in one of these and what did I find? A white Pagoda. I've not seen this one before, very shiny and well loved and strangely American looking. Red leather with white piping, white band tyres and head rests. I wouldn't normally park beside it, however for the benefit of the photo .......
