On Saturday I went to Home Depot in my 280SL. On returning to my car, I noticed a note on my car seat that someone had wrote that he had a white '67 230SL, a question of where I have my car service, and a corresponding name and telephone number. I called and we talked for a liitle bit and decided to meet the next day with both cars. I called some other people in the area with the same cars to see if they wanted to meet also. Over coffee at a local Starbucks, we meet, but only the two of us. We talked for a while and I told him about this forum. We decided to go for a drive but exhanging cars. Both cars are Euro spec with a four speed. It was the first time that I had drove another Pagoda. My 280 SL had a recently re-done suspension with new shocks, upgraded sport and progressive springs and compensation springs, new king pins, a beefer sway bar, 15" alloy rims with sporter tires, etc.; however, I was surprised at how well the stock 230SL drove. That makes 5 Pagodas in the local Parker/Castle Rock area, Colorado, that I know of. Our local Pagoda club is growing. 3 are driveable and the other 2 are being worked on.
