After spring arrived, I see a lot of Pagodas around Copenhagen - but it is usually the same bunch of cars that circulate the same area - a red 280, a light blue 230, a cream 230, a white 230, a dark blue 250 and my own silver 230. Occasionally there is an immaculate, white 190 SL parked right outside my window - it's owned by a photographer, who also drives a Havana Brown 280 SL and several 107's (lucky b.....).

I just returned from Sea Island, Georgia, very small, very exclusive area with pricey homes.  While down there for 4 days, I saw 5 vintage cars, one of them a 230 SL with its top down parked in a driveway that I saw while taking a walk through the residential areas.  I think it was white/grey, but it may have been something else.  I could not get right up to it to see, only from the street into the driveway.  We then saw it drive by on the main drag about 15 minutes later as we continued our walk.  One can only imagine what lurks in the garages of these 1.5 - 30 million dollar homes!  There was a beautiful '57 or so T-bird convertible that we saw twice in the same place, the driveway.  I don't think they even put it in the garage overnight!

Saw a black 280 with red interior on Madison ave yesterday at lunchtime. Very good looking man in late 50's driving. Coolest thing I think I've ever seen.

Saw a dark red metallic 280sl on Harrison Street, in Forest Park, Illinois a few days ago. It was parked in front of a restaurant but the business next door is a foreign auto repair shop. Don't know if the owner or the car was getting service. Anybody here?

This morning, 8:05 AM, in front of the United Nations main entrance here in Geneva (Place des Nations), heading down towards the lake:

A burgendy metallic red 230 SL (I think it was a 230) at the same traffic light I had to stop for on my Honda scooter on my way to work. Gentleman had on a shirt + tie so seemingly on his way to work also. Anybody here?

Over the past few weeks, many more classics on the roads around Geneva, including a beautiful Ferrari last Saturday around 7:20 AM, an MGB and a Porsche 356. Before now, I did not see one classic car for several months but now they're out.

I have 6 pagodas in my hood, one is a blue 280Sl that was dragged through a rifle bore. It belongs to a local real estate agent who uses the picture on his business card. I try to avoid him as he always wants me to list my house with him.
The others are ships in the night in various conditions and none are MBCA or pagoda members.

Virtually never where I live in New England, at least not on the roads anyway. I might see one at a cruise night every now and then.  Nearly a dozen or so pop out every October at the Mercedes day a the Larz Anderson Museum however.

Yesterday while flat hunting for my mother, lurking in the basement of a nice Dublin 4 apartment complex, a cream 280SL, with what looked like an original Irish registration. As I approached I feared this might be a neglected specimen, but car looked clean and cared for. Any of my Irish friends here?

Stunning black/parchment '65 in Dulwich Park this morning

Yesterday 2.15-2.30pm

South Circular Road, heading west at Roehampton

Black, 280. At least I guess it was a 280 with the licence plate "70 SL"

Very  nice. Made me wish I'd sucked up taking mine to work instead of sitting in traffic for 1.5 hours in a Smartcar

Do I get a prize for spotting 2 in 1 day. First at 3:30 this morning queuing up at the Folkestone Eurotunnel terminal and 'Phil' roars up right behind me in a black '65 230. Paint was a bit flat but sound. He was off to Francorchamps to race Cobras over the weekend. Nice guy. Introduced him to the forum and spent a great 30 min swapping the lead on the way to Belgium.

Number 2 was at 6pm just outside Stuttgart. Exchanged waves with a very nice black or dark blue W113. Anyone here?

I spotted a very nice looking, possibly signal red W113 today as it was turning off of Los Osos Valley road on it way (back) to the Mercedes Benz deal in San Luis Obisp0, California.

I was in our 2010 ML350 not our pagoda but I acknowledged the driver and received a nice friendly nod as he turned left in front of me and then passed me in the opposite direction of travel.

Very clean looking car.    Probably only the 4th pagoda I have spotted in the last 12 -16 months in my local area.

Yesterday I got my -71 280SL registered after almost 3 years restoration. Managed to get an old style (for Norway) registration No. L 28071.
To-day on my way to the local shopping center, (not in the SL) I ended up behind a nice 280SL with registration no. L 28069. :o

He parked not far from me, so I had a nice chat with the owner.

James

Three in 24 hours, silver, RHD, black interior, parked (does that count?) in Kensington with a plate that started MUF last night...., today LHD 280SL turning off the Kings Rd at the fire station, ivory (?) with hardtop and   those dark green windows that indicate a life spent in warmer climes and  tonight, spotted by my daughter,  another ivory/black soft top parked on Earl's Court Road. London, 25C brings them out!

I saw two yesterday at the "Gathering of Friends All Europen Car Show" held at Laguna Lake in San Luis Obispo, Ca.  There were a total of 150 European and British cars of all makes and models in attendance.
Of the 35 Mercedes-Benz entries, only 3 were W113 vintage.  One was an off white (possibly white grey) 230SL with blue interior, the other was a 1972 280SL light beigh with cognac interior with a for sale sign on it.  the elderly gentleman was from Morro Bay and was asking $28.5, but I think it was overpriced considering the overall condition of interior and exterior.

Oh yeah,  and the third was my 1970 280SL.  I won a 3rd place award for "Peoples Choice" in my class and I also won 2nd place in the judging of all  Mercedes-Benz entries.

I saw a beige one in the UK a couple of weeks ago... Ive never seen one on the road before!

For our Uk members this was just off the M1 at lutterworth and the car was smoking badly!! The driver seemed to be enjoying the ride though.
