Fuel Injection Pump
« on: November 30, 2006, 11:21:14 »
I am working on my 1970 280sl which appears to have fuel delivery issues and suspect I may be a candidate for a new/rebuilt injection pump.  The car is a U.S. version automatic.  Any suggestions on suppliers for this pump.  I'm interested in quality, price, and availability.  Thanks.

Charlie,

Matt is right, problems are often blamed on the FI Pump because the system is "complicated".  These systems are very robust, so check other things first.  Sometimes it's not that anything is "bad", just not tuned properly.

Hello Charlie,

Make sure the electric fuel pump is working and delivering enough fuel and pressure, before diving into the injetion system.
