motor removal question

Here is a question for the sl guru's.

I am preparing to pull the motor on my 66 230 sl next weekend.
all is stripped down,  I started removing some of the bolts securing the motor to the tranny.

There are 2 bolts on the top about 11 and 1 o'clock.  the one at 1 I reached thru the access hole in the tranny tunnel.  How does one access the one at 11?

I ended up using a socket on a short ratchet, once it was in place I used a pry bar between the rachet and the body to push down on the rachet until the bolt came loose.  

once the bolt was loose it was easy to ratchet out.

so, read thru the haynes manual and they said to use a 2 foot long extension to reach the upper bolt.  I guess one would feed the extension up from near the rear of the tranny.  Of course this was part of the instructions on removing the tranny not the motor without the tranny.

anyway, the bolt is out and that is what is important.

Take them out together?  Motor and tranny as a unit-mit starter.

I used a couple of 18-inch extensions and came in over the back of the transmission.  It works just fine.  Then when I put it back, I could use the torque wrench from there.  I expected some flex from the two extensions, might affect the torque reading, but I checked it with and without extensions on the lower, easy to reach bolts, and I think the torque is close enough for bell housing bolts.
