New floor mats and it's having the rear-end rebuilt.  Hopefully it will be back on the road at the dawn of the new year!  (It rolled off the line on Jan 14, 1964 so it also has birthday coming up.)

Happy motoring to all in 2007!

New License plate frames, chrome with gold "Mercedes-Benz" raised letters on the bottom. Also, new hood spring torison rod. Looking for Charles Atlas to turn it counter clockwise & hook it to hole on side of hood-then install hood!!!

Ours was one of those lopsided gift exchanges. The car got a cheap little Voltage Regulator and I got to take drives on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

New Heater Core!
Refurbished Becker Stereo w/IPOD wire
New (hopefully tastefully installed) modern speakers
New Chrome Door Jamb Trim
New Right Rear Axle Boot
New Fire Wall Padding...not sure that I'm excited about the work in process on this one...
Scrubbed Components under dash (prior owner used graphite to fix everything - what a mess!!!!)

There's more...but after 11 weeks of waiting for parts...my mind has gone to mush while the bills keep adding up!

I'll post pics of cosmetic changes when I get the car back...hopefully next week...

"Looks like mine is going to get a new clutch slave for New Years."

I got the car back yesterday after the clutch slave work and a good sorting of the shift linkage.  Now perhaps someone else besides me could drive it!  I have the hardtop on for the first time in a while, too.  After washing and waxing the SL yesterday, I took it for a spirited drive through some nice twisties outside Santa Barbara.  With the 4 sp, the front suspension entirely rebuilt last summer, along with rear shocks and new tires, the old dear handles corners very smartly for a car approaching 40 years old.  I was the only one doing any sliding around because, as you know, the seats give no lateral support.  Anyway, good to have it back.
