braking up at3500-4000 rpm

Runs fine up to about 3500 rpm and the it starts braking up, it will not pool over 4000 rpm or so. Also where can I find a complette fuel systemm schematic including the electrical parts.

I had a similar problem with our 1964 230 SL and it was down to lack of lubrication of the distributor, which affrected the timing advance/retard function. Try the following: Take off the distributor cap. Remove the rotor. The rotor axle is hollow and you should let a few drops of engine oil into the hollow shaft. Next, place the rotor and distributor cap. Furthermore, you will find a small oil cap on the side of the distributor. Turn the knob until open and add a few drops if engine oil. I is important to be a little patient as the oil have to work.

Hello Lajos,

What is the history of this problem?  

Read the spark plugs and install a new set.  Spark plugs are inexpensive compared to everything else.  You can use the old set again later if the problem is somewhere else. Check back with us after the change.

 It's been years since I've seen You, any way , the car belongs to one of my costumers, it was towed in, The coil was oosing, the dist. had a short, replaced everything, it runs fine up to 4000 rpm. If You don't mind You can call me at 614 378 6366.

I'm with Finn .... The problem is in the ignition system.  Are you sure that you installed the correct coil?  An internal ballast coil with external ballast would cause your symptom.  Check the resistance on the coil, if it is greater than 3 ohms, it should not have the external ballast.

The blue coil has an internal balast.  The red coil is standard for the 113s.

Not all of the blue coils are compatable with point and condensor ignitions, I had the same problem when I tried to use a blue Bosch TSZ coil on my 66 230sl.
