Thanks Gents. Things are in motion for new points & plugs. One final question -- would a symptom of points/timing be a bit of a deep gutteral knock heard -- especially at say 3000RPM. I think I hear something like a rumble -- thought it might be an exhaust leak -- but maybe its the engine telling me something?
