Interior Code Number
« on: February 27, 2007, 12:45:22 »
I'm looking at a silver/red late producion 71 and all the data card codes check out. It has interior code 131 which is MB-Tex but I want to make sure it's the correct color. Does anyone know if red is correct for this code? Thanks

According to Meredith, 131 in MB Tex is black upholstery ( White headliner and dark brown carpet).

132 is red upholstery, could you have misread or made a typo?

No, the seller confirmed that it was originally black but changed to red leather. All the other codes check out and I'm wondering if this color change, even for the better, effects future collectible value. At the asking price of this car I feel that the data cards should match. Any thoughts? Images at: http://24.56.70.142/~zanone/red/red_index.html

Well, if the interior has been replaced once, then "original" is already out the window.  Consider using the car and then at the time of sale, some years on from now, change it back to correct black.
