Can use detailed instructions for retractable seat
« on: March 27, 2007, 15:02:23 »
Does anyone have some detailed instructiions and good photos for installation of the retractable seatbelts. I purchased a set from SL tech and it would really help to have good instructions and pictures to set these up.

Thank You
Bob Geco

Never have done it. Have Kangols and think about converting to the modern ones. But I would bet that if you bought it from Gernold he knows exactly how to explain and would be happy to answer questions about it on the phone.

Bob,

Didn't you ask for this some time ago, and didn't I send you the MB factory instructions for same?  I have them if you didn't get them.  Too big to email.  Let me know.

Bob,

Michael sent his copy of the instructions to me and they were excellent but not instantly intuative (the photos aren't great, for example - I can take new ones if you really need them). Do not try to do the fitting without them unless you've got time to burn. I completed my fitting 3 weeks ago so the process and pitfalls are very fresh in my mind. The instructions will get you to about 70% in short order. I think I can save you a further 20% of hassle; the last 10% depends on luck and your car.

If you want to contact me off line I would be happy to give you my pointers of the job and answer any questions you might have.

OVERRULED, Counselor.  Defendent has sent so many copies of things out as favors it is unreasonable to ask or assume he keeps track of what he sends out.  He may not indeed have complied with Plantiff Geco's request for said documentation and was merely asking...

Bob,
You still need the instructions for the seatbelts?
I have a print out from an ancient xerox machine that looks a bit waxy.  Can send you a copy of the copy if you want.
