Going to need a head gasket set for a Sept '65 230SL.  What, where, how much, etc?   Any advice?  :?:

The head gasket design was changed in the mid 70's so that now the 230sl and the m129e 250se-sl motors all use the same head gasket.

I ordered mine from Metric Motors when I ordered the piston ring sets. it was $92.00 (shipping included)

The MBZ dealer "blue box" part# 129 016 15 20 appears to be the head gasket only, I didn't see a full gasket set listed in the EPC online catalog.

Believe it or not most Head gasket sets for the engines do not include the valve cover gasket or the seals for the valve cover bolts.
I usually buy from thepartbin.com which is one of many shill companies for worldpac. Worldpac is probably the US's largest supplier of quality parts for foreign cars. I checked on a head set for your car it was $110.00 for an Elring set which is OEM. No valve cover gasket.

Glenn,

If it helps, the Elring # for the head gasket is 831.433

Manifold gasket 821.152

Rocker Cvr gasket 194.212

Elring used to sell a head gasket with manifold gasket but cannot find the part # just now.
