Heater lever lamps
« on: June 07, 2007, 20:58:10 »
Classic Center advised that all dash lights including the heater lever lamps are the same and provided a part number. I ordered accordingly. In my car at least, the heater lever lamps are different and smaller.

Can anyone help with a number and hopefully a source?
Thanks

Originally, mine were all the same....  2w, 12v
I changed out my speedo, tach with 3w, 12v to brighten up the dash lights a bit.

I don't have the part number with me, but you can try www.topbulb.com quite a resource for lamps.

I experienced exactly the same problem.  Didn't address it as the dashboard on my car isn't back together yet.  My car is a 230SL and those heater lever bulbs are definitely smaller.

Gus,

I believe the bulb you're after is the one on the right?
78180 in 'USA speak' (Size BA 7s).

Thanks Naj. I made another call to the Classic Center. This time (same person) gave me a different MB part # for the heater lever lamps. It is 072601 012800.

Just got out to the garage to install the "new" heater lever lamps. They are still wrong. What I got was more instrument bulbs. Ignoe the p/n in the previous post if you are after heater lever lamps. I'll try to get them elsewhere with the Hella number Naj provided.

I hope this saves someone some time and annoyance.

TopBulb, www.TopBulb.com, has these. Thier item number is O-3898. The price is $1.99 each, but there is a flat $7.95 shipping charge regardless of order size.

Generically the bulb is BA7s, as Naj advised.

Just a note: the website needs to be searched without the comma at the end.
