Vince,
I am certain that a few beers will help "keep the SL flag flying in Spain". I personally would prefer my beer to be cold. If you are trying to get in with our local members in Spain you may want to offer cerveza.
Welcome to the group and enjoy your Pagoda.

Welcome, Vince, looks like a sweet ride.  Did you import this from USA?  Do you have to convert the headlights or anything else to drive in Spain?

You will get all the advice you need (and sometimes more!) so welcome,

Best,
g

Thank you enoch & ted for the replies,
I imported it from new york to my holiday home in spain. There are only 2 cars in the complete area.Due to registering in spain it will take 3 months to get a number plate so i cant drive it till then. Its killing me but will allow me to get things sorted on it.
regards

Hi Vince, I frequent Spain quite a bit and I have only ever seen 2 Pagoda's in the Costa del Sol region. There are one or two other members here that have similar cars in other regions of Spain.

There is a Pagoda specialist in Spain, I'll tyry to find the info !

What part are you in ?

Regards,
Ben in Ireland.

Hello Ben
My villa is in a small town called Benijofar which is between Alicante & Murcia in the Costa Blanca. I would be interested in the pagoda dealer
thanks

Vince dont worry about asking the group to go easy, I dont think you will ever find a friendlier group than this.
Also welcome to W113 ownership you will have a fantastic time.
Like Ben I spend a lot of time in Spain, we have a house there but are currently living away due to work, but will return there in the not too distant future along with my car 8) .
There are a couple of specialists in Spain, if you search the internet look for classic MB for sale, this should bring up the specialists, one in particular I saw does a lot of restoration work and sells parts. Also if you require parts, Jacksons of Poole have a great stock, ask for Mervyn he is a guru on classic MBs and SLS in Germany are very helpful and fast delivery to either England or Spain, both have good internet sites.
On the pessimistic side, you have chosen a very difficult route, taking the car directly into Spain from the USA. Everything I hear from people who have tried this warn against it and always recommend first registering in the UK to get it into the EU, in reality your 3 months maybe very optimistic, hope you have a good Gestoria!
You can always drive the car in Spain on UK plates, most major insurance companies have offices in Gibralter who specialise insuring UK registered cars in Spain and you can use the ITV instead of the MOT even with UK plates. I do understand the the UK is looking to go toward a 2 year MOT which also helps.
There are about 5 or 6 Pagodas in the Marbella area and a garage that seems to do all the mechanical servicing work for them, but not sure about Murcia.
Anyway good luck and keep the group advised of your progress on registration and refurbishment.

Hello & thanks Rob,
You are right. i think it will poss. take longer but thats spain. I dont mind really as a long as the car is there. I can tinker about with it & when i can drive the car imagine the thrill. I have used a dealer in germany called niemoller for a few parts & must say they were at reasonable cost with first class delivery. They sent me a complete catologue with price list so it seems they can get anything
Once again thanks
kind regards
