My Pagoda

Hy to all,

I'm proud to present to you my Pagoda.

It's a 1964 230SL.

I bought it four months ago from a friend of mine who had had this car for the last 23 years, before this time it had been in Germany and had arrived in Italy at the beginning of the 80s when it had been completly restored.

Unfortunatly during the restoration the colour had been changed as well as some details, these last ones replaced with 280SL ones.

My Pagoda was born white with a grey hard top, now it's completly blue, but I don't know if this is an original MB colour...but I like it in any case: furthermore, it's mine, so I like it all the same!

Moreover it's not perfect, it has some little problems due to a use which is not daily, but it runs great and looks fashionable.

Before this car, four years ago, I had a 190SL, too, but I sold it because, having started to work I didn't have any more time to spend with it.

I hope you can give me your opinion about my Pagoda.

Welcome Mirko,
Your 64 looks great.
The color looks like a modern mid blue metallic, not sure of the color code.
Do you have the upright spare tire in the trunk or the horizontal one?
Interior has a nice carpet?  What kind is it?  I like it and wouldn't mind doing mine too.  The square weave in mine is already attracting moths and I am just frustrated in trying to keep them out.  Mothballs, bug bomb, wood polish, Lavender sachets, etc.  All not working well as they keep coming back.
Maybe you want to paint your hubcaps the same blue color.
Keep on enjoying your Pagoda!

Hy Walter,

to be onest i don't know the origin of the carpets. I've bought the Pagoda with them and I thought that they are original, but some italian friends tell me that quite all Pagodas had only the rubber ones...I don't know what is true.

The colour it's not a metallic but a matt one, it's like the old FIAT blue Avio of late 80s cars.

I'll post some other photo where the colur will be clear.

PS my Pagoda as the horizontal spare tire in the trunk

Bye

It is a beautiful car, original color or not...
One thing - Where are your seatbelts anchored?  I see something that looks like they are attached to the parcel shelf behind the seats.  Is this true, or is there a more robust conection?  Those shelves are bolted in wooden items that would not be secure for seatbelts.

Take care,
John
