Windshield washer pump no electric power
« on: September 01, 2007, 16:46:16 »
Today I installed a new mulitfunction stalk on my '63 230SL. I had to remove the male plug in order to fish it down through the steering column. I took close up pictures of the plug with the wires in it, but that didn't help much because they kinda got mixed up when I fished them through the column. Connected the horn wires, pluged in the male plug under the dash and installed the steering wheel. The turn signals & headlight flasher work. The windshield washer will not work & the wipers have only one speed. When I push the thumb switch for the slower speed on the stalk it turns off the wipers. I must have the two wires in the wrong holes in the male holder. I need to find out which wires & holes are for the washer & wiper  The washer pump worked perfect before I did this replacement. I Removed the pump & attached two leader wires to the battery & it runs. Please help!!

Regards, Paul, Early '63 230SL

Today, I got the problem fixed. I had the #2 & #3 wires switched on the left side of the male plug.
