Hi Frank,
You're right. It is fun working on these cars and continuing to perfect them. I am addicted. I am sort of looking forward to taking my car apart and getting it repainted (if the paint cost is reasonable). I will do this right, if I am going to do it, and have the dash redone as well as the engine bay. I will remove most of the engine and hopefully they can work around the rest. If not, I'll pull it.
It is funny how the lighting plays on the color of these cars. When I bought my car in Sedona, AZ. 4 years ago, the color looked a lot more on the ivory side. Back here in Memphis, on some days it looks almost a flesh tone pink ( :x UUGGHH!)
I have sooo much into my car (parts, labor...) that to sell it now to buy a different color 113, would be a loss. At least if I can repaint to a color that I like, I can keep the car and know the mechanics are in order and the car is sound, and .... actually like the color...
I am meeting the painters tomorrow and will look at their color swatches. Since the light ivory is so close to my color, as Douglas and Dennis have said, it should be a fairly easy blend of old and new.
I will also stop at Lowes this eve and look at the almond rustoleum.
Thanks for your comments.
Bob
