Ignition key Ring
« on: November 19, 2007, 19:36:09 »
Anybody knows if these rings are available? I called K&K and they don't have them, they checked with their "supplier" in Germany, also don't have them at this point.

Er... not quite, Alfred.  The ring Dave and I have offered is situated at the glove compartment, (see attached photo, red marking).

The ring Roman asks about is part No 110 689 01 80, and when I now try the database, indeed it shows up as non-availabe.

I need of of these chrome key rings also.  The PO of my car installed a plastic one...

Does anyone know if possibly another models chrome ring would work?  Like many other parts that are interchangeable between the models, maybe another MB model?

Thanks,
Bob

Roman,
Check with your MB dealer parts dept.  The part number you want is 115 689 00 80 (Escutcheun, steering lock opening).  I got one not long ago.  They are still stocked by MB.

Hi Hans,
Thanks for correcting me .. I guess I haven't adjusted to the new time zone yet  :)
You might consider having them made also but with longer and stronger tabs.  The rings sold by M-B are very difficult to remove without breaking the short tabs once they are bent.

fyi...

In addition to the chrome trim surround, there is also a rubber grommet used.  I found today that that part number is:
MB PN# 115 689 00 97

Per the local Memphis MB dealership, both the chrome and rubber are available via special order...
