Hi Bob,

You should be able to remove by just pushing the bulb in slightly, then turning it.  It may have some dirt holding it in?

Like so many things that are so old, it might need some gentle persuasion.

It is entirely likely, too, that you will NOT be able to remove the bulb without destroying it.  The glass part of the bulb might separate from the metal base.  In that case, a needle-nose pliers will be required to remove the base from the holder, and of course you'll need a new bulb.

Been there and done that as they say.

Removal of bulb from side marker lights:

Yes I broke the glass and ended up using three different types of pliers to pull the cooper cone out. I was trying yesterday to remove another one and wondered if I should at first use a little WD40 to help loosen the old bulbs, it too was stuck.
Is this a good idea?
I also used a q-tip to swab around the rubber to clean and lube the rubber seals inside and out.
Thanks for your help.

I found the answer. I wentto the auto parts store with the side marker bulb and purchased 5/16 fuel hose. This cover the glass but allows you to turn it  and pull it  out gentley.  I cut  a hole in the hose and added a popscile stick to turn the hose and add leverage. Also add a dab of dielectric grease to the side of the bulb so they will be easier to remove andadds insullation. Works like a charm, my own personal side marker light bulb tool.
