Well, there it was just about midnight in New York. I heard a bit of a racket outside and glanced out the window to hear the deep roar of a Pagoda muffler.
A heavy man with a flowing white beard wearing a red suit trimmed in white fur was getting into a red 230SL with the top down. A big sack stuffed with a lot of things was squeezed very tightly into the small space behind the two front seats.
It sure looked like Santa. I called out, "Where are your reindeer?" He looked me and with wink said, "Don't need reindeer when I have 170 very strong horses here."
He fitted himself (with some difficulty) behind the oversized steering wheel then shifted the manual tranny into first and quickly into second as he drove out of sight saying "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night."
