anyone know the part # for the aluminium

1- the aluminum spacer inside the tachometer drive assembly and how hard to install?

Erick,
There is a rubber 'o' ring under the alli washer and also a seal (not unlike a valve stem seal in shape) in the housing that you undo to change the washer.
I trust you have read the topic Joe reffered you to. While you are there, its worth checking the 'lift' in the drive gear and shimming it if necessary.

Hey Eric it is Ernie in Chicago with the 250SL parts car...I have to put in a new tach cable on my 280 is it pretty easy? Call me I am taking your glass out of the car.
