Down Under day at the Lake
« on: January 02, 2008, 17:45:32 »
Hi All,

Just to make the northern hemisphere peoples somewhat 'green' with envy, I took the car out today around a lake where I live for its first major drive after three years of working on it .
Beautiful sunny day, no clouds, temp about 32 degree c, another average day down under!
Snow and ice, what snow and ice
Enjoy

I like your overhead shots, they look great for a great looking car.

But why are the windows up???

All the best

Garry, as nice as your car looks on the photos, it does not compare with seeing it in real life....your car is truely one of the nicest examples I've seen.
Just as an explanation to everyone else, Garry and I met up last week and introduced ourselves and our cars. I will post some pictures in the next week or so. What Garry didn't mention is that those pictures around the lake are take virtually at his fromt door step. Some people have all the luck: a beautiful car, a superb place to live and a wounderful wife (not necessarily in that order).
Cheers mate!

Beautiful car!  I especially love the overhead shots.  May I ask what your exterior colour code is?

Beautiful pictures and beautiful car.  The weather wasn't too bad here in San Jose either, 83°F and clear blue skies.  Unfortunately, I was in the garage all day preparing for the Gold Country Drive next weekend.  I hope the weather holds out!

Pete:

What do you mean "Hope the weather holds out." Isn't it always sunny and beautiful in California? Isn't that why they designed the so called California Special with no tops?

(Out of courtesy, I'm not mentioning the earthquakes, forest fires, mud slides, and other West Coast incidents that do occur from time to time...oops. how did this part get in here?)

I jest of course. I love CA and often wish I were there enjoying the (usually) great weather.

Thanks Dirk. I was going to post some of those photos but have got tied up with work.  Retirement is such fun!!
To answer the questions.
The windows were up as it was cold that day.  I think it was about 75 deg f. (only joking :D )  Now that the weather has really changed, I am sitting freezing,(by Oz standards 14 deg C or 60f) and I actually drove with the top up for the first time last week. No fun at all, you cannot hear the pagoda burble.

The color is Dark Olive 291 H. Interior leather was as close as I could get to what was there when I started work on it but unsure of its color.

And now we down under's watch all the northerners have all the summer fun

Richard,

You know, there might be a cloud or something  :(  and if it dips way down into the 60's I'll have to get out the thermal underwear.

Actually, I grew up back east and sometimes I do miss the seasons, except when driving!  Our seasons are: chilly, warm, & fire season...
