OK, I know the theory, but the practice...
The gas pedal is secured at the heel end, from the rear by two screws/bolts? Unscrew these, slide the pedal up and to near vertical and it should be possible to take it off the connecting rod.
Refitting is the opposite of removal
Except for.... HOW do you get the two screws off? There's no room behind the bracket before the firewall starts so getting a screwdriver/socket back there seems impossible...
Anyone been down this road?
edit
OK, having advertised my own stupidity, I feel it appropriate to clarify..
I just inspected the heel of the new (to be fitted) pedal at the back and realised that there was no threading in the holes, suggesting that the thing was not held on with screws at all. So I resorted to my other staple... brute force. Pulled the heel of the pedal towards me and lo, out it popped from the two barbed lugs.
Twist the heel towards you to just past horizontal, unhook the top end and reverse the process for refitting.
I now have two brand new pedals, and very nice they look too!
