Current documentation - is it really available?
« on: May 01, 2008, 15:47:43 »
I have searched the forums and find that some of the links to documentation are no longer valid.  I have just acquired a 250 SL and now I need to find the documentation to work on it.  I know that the BBB exists and can be ordered from Germany in German, and I have located a parts CD also on a German website.

What I'm not finding is anything in the U.S. where I can purchase the parts and/or maintenance CDs for the 113.  When I phoned the Classic Center, they referred me to the Literature department, and when I asked the Literature department about CDs, they had no idea what I was talking about....

Help?  Thanks!!!!!!!

I am very surprised that the Classic Center professes to not know about the CD's etc. I was not able to access the MBUSA technical literature site, but you should be able to go there to find this CD. I think the prices have been dropped significantly from several years ago. You are looking for Volume 4 of the CD set; which has the 113 among a bunch of other stuff.

You should also be able to find the BBB on ebay fairly readily. This is where I found mine.

Classic center still sells the Service Manual on CD for your car (p/n QL-6516-5415-02) $19.99. You can also buy the book for $134.50 (p/n QL-6510-1261-02)
Go to:
1. http://www.mbusa.com/heritage/contact-classic-center.do
2. Scroll over "Classic Center" and then select "Technical Literature" from the pull down window.
3. In the new window "Search by Literature Type" select "service manual" type in model and year, and so forth.

Waqas, you are not alone. I also bought the Volume 4 CD  two or three years ago, at about the price you paid. I guess there are some things that MB has lowered the price on. Now, if they would only do that with some of the dang parts!
