NSW Concours d'Elegance
« on: October 16, 2003, 18:14:21 »
Hi everyone

The Mercedes-Benz Club of NSW recently held its annual Concours d'Elegance and I thought you might like to see some pictures. There were only three Pagodas entered in the 113 class unfortunately but they were all of a high standard. The winner was a very original dark blue 1965 230SL with only 38,000 miles on the clock. It also won the people's choice award.

Go to: www.mercedes-benzclubnsw.com.au and click on Past Events and then select 2003 Concours d'Elegance.

I was Concours Director this year and I must say it was both an experience and a challenge. My 230SL is in the Pagoda line up (the light blue car with the top down) but it was not entered.

Regards

Mark

Thanks Mark - great photos, and congratulations on what would seem to have been a successful event.
Just as a matter of interest, what is the Pagoda 'population' of the NSW club when at full strength?

Cheers,

kns.

Hi kns

I'm not sure about the exact number of Pagodas in the NSW club at present however I estimate that it would have to be between 15 and 20. I'll ask next time I speak to the membership secretary.

I looked at the pictures of the auto polishing seminar. What products they use? Notice the 30x magnifier glass?

Hey MarkR,

Great turn out and beautiful cars.

Good to see the Pagodas on show.

I love the 220SE ?? cabriolet... pretty car.

Wish the MB Qld club would embrace the internet more actively and accept that this W113Pagoda SL Group and Dorians' make a great contribution.

G'day everyone

I am going to be the director for next year's NSW Concours so you can get it straight from the horse's mouth. It will be held on Sunday 12 September 2004. How's that for advance notice? Dick, you would be more than welcome so please let me know when you are coming. I'm sure there are lots of club members who would like to meet you, myself included.

Bob, it's great to hear that you've moved to Canberra. The ACT has an active club and usually holds their annual concours in September, a week or two after the NSW club. You can contact me on 9918 4188 (work hours) or 0411 739 694.

Regards

Mark
