hello all
the handle inside the car spins round & it will not release the soft top. it seems to have come adrift. any help how to release the top & how to attatch the handle. There is nothing in my haynes
manual

I think Peter was being a little humorous about giving up the top.
Take a look at this thread link for info on how to get the soft top compartment cover to release when the cable comes loose. (If this is your problem...it's not clear if it's the compartment handle or one of the forward soft top handles that is in trouble.)

A picture might help. This is what the latch mechanism looks like just in from the hole thro' to the boot.
