Mystery parts--Can anyone identify?
« on: May 16, 2008, 15:31:51 »
Can anyone identify the two parts pictured here?

Part 1 is a wire that seems to come straight from the fuse box and based on its length runs under the left carpet channel to the trunk. It's in a loose plastic sheath and is "always hot."

Part 2 is an oblong piece of insulation with a slot in one end. I can't for the life of me remember where it came from. (If in fact it came from this car at all. I'm pretty sure it did.)

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

-Dave

The wire running to the trunk may be for the trunk light?

Thanks, Cees. You're probably right, and it turns out I don't have a trunk light. That whole square panel in the rear of the compartment is missing, somebody probably took it out complete with the plunger switch, which I also can't find.

Do you happen to know if this wire is supposed to go in the aluminum carpet channel together with the main harness? Or just under the rug? It's a very tight fit in the channel and doesn't feel right.
