Replacing Trunk/Soft Top Cover Hinge Assembly
« on: June 06, 2008, 12:33:18 »
It's necessary that I replace the passenger side trunk/soft top cover hinge assembly on my 250SL. Any advice on the torsion rod removal. I've disassembled nylon retainer blocks and made an effort to flex the rods out of the guide tubes on the hinges and body framework, but I'm concerned that if I flex much further I'll put a permanent bend in the rods. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I looked in my BBB and it only had instrustions for sedans, which must have a different hinge and tension system.  Sorry I can't help.

Sorry Sandy!
The hinge and torsion bar is one item that I left on my car when it was being repainted.  Didnt take it off....  Be careful!
