License Light Rubber, Glove Box Lock NLA?
« on: June 21, 2008, 11:13:47 »
Gentlemen, I'm in search of some parts:
- the rubber housing around the glass of the licence-plate light. To my knowledge only available as a complete set.

Download Attachment: rubber housing.jpg

- the chrome turning locking shaft inside the glovebox compartiment. Mine is partially broken

Any help where I can find these items is most appreciated.
Btw sorry for the description, that's where the pics help me out I hope.

Not sure about the rubber for the license light but glovebox locks come up on Ebay from time to time.

I don't believe my "glovebox locking shaft" is chrome.

Question:  Are you starting your search with us, or have you already called several parts vendors?  With you being in Belgium, I would recommend:
- Geert Vandenberghe, http://www.mercedesclubs.de/scriptdaten/vdhforum/DCForumID10/734.html
- Van Dijk, http://www.classicsl.com
- SLS, http://www.sls-hh.de
- Stickel Pagoden Center, http://www.pagoden-center.de

Most of the glovebox locking shafts I've seen are chrome. On both the 1969 and the 1971 280 SL's these pieces were chrome...maybe they were not chrome on the earlier cars?

I already did the research (SLS, Van den Bergh, Van Dijck, MB Classic center Belgium)and nobody seems to have these items as new parts. There is of course the second hand market...
