Question about front axel seals
« on: June 22, 2008, 21:17:56 »
I was speaking with a knwon seller about parts and he indicated that there was something slightly different about the front axel seals that come from MB as opposed to third-party.  Something about an alignment ridge or something.  Does anyone know if there is anything special about front axel seals that I should know?   Thanks  Scott

Hi Scott,

With all the work it takes to replace the seals: brake and caliper removal; hub removal, etc...  I would buy the MB ones and do it right.  You dont want them to leak and get grease on the front brakes...  be safe and do it right.

Not sure about a ridge?  There is a thin lip that sits tightly around the pin...

Good Luck,
Bob
