OIL Leak Tach/cyl head area

I am baffled,,,I just got a very bad oil leak at the front cyl head where tach cable goes in. I removed the cable and retainer AND aluminum washer which apparently is the only seal, I reinstalled everything and tightened to about 2 foot lbs. since there is no room for socket only 22mm open end..no leak on idle or cruise under 3000rpm...full throttle produces oil leak..I removed and used hi temp sealer..still leaks...check tube on valve cover to inj air inlet. it is open..it would appear pressure is building up and forcing oil out...I have seen this problem on message boards before but can not find it..also I believe engine is set at correct specs and it runs very well outside of oil leak...help somebody!.. thanx

leak has now been tracked to tacho housing/sheath and knurled retainer..there is no gasket of any kind here..should there be one?  still looks like a lot of internal crankcase pressure to push oil out at that point. again breather tube from valve cover to air inlet is clear..what have I missed?

Shouldn't there be an 'O' ring somewhere there ?

You sure that all the components of that breather are clear, as in the actuall rocker cover area, the fitting into the cover and the actual throttle end.........all clear ?

There should be a large 'o' ring under the alli washer and also a seal 'similar looking to a valve stem seal' in the tacho cable end.

What's an alli washer?  Is that like a lock washer or a crush washer or something?

I suppose "alli" is short for aluminium (or: aluminum as it is called in the US).

According to my 230SL parts book, here's what is supposed to be there from top to bottom:

127 060 00 46 - Connector for tachometer drive
120 261 00 80 - Seal ring
126 990 01 40 - Cover plate
621 997 00 40 - Rubber ring (replaced by 621 050 05 06)
126 180 00 44 - Thrust piece
000561 008107 - Hex head screw for thrust piece
