Euro Lights mislabeled?
« on: October 30, 2008, 20:50:15 »
There is an ebay auction running for what is advertised as euro lights for a 280sl. They don't appear to be correct for our cars. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360101209859&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem= Lots of good pictures of the lights and maybe they work for a member who also owns the correct car.  Of course if I'm wrong about the application to Pagodas, please let me know.

These are the European-spec headlights for the sedans (108) and coupes/cabriolets (111).

They appear to be the later type, with the flat-faced lens. Recall that there are early and late type Euro-spec lenses for the pagoda as well.

Personally, I prefer the more rounded appearance of the early type European lenses for both pagoda and sedan/coupe. For example, here's the earlier type rounded lenses installed on my w111 coupe:

Thanks for clearing that up. The shape of the lights in the auction didn't look right for an sl.  Great pic of your car.

I'm aware of and actually posses 113 Euros both early and late (Convex and Flat). I also currently have a 111 cab (US car fitted with Euros)But I have never seen flat 108/111 Euro lenses.I have heard of them but doubted that they exist! Those are cool!  KB
